The scholarship:
Our scholarship programme offers £2,300, to be disbursed during the Spring Academic Term.
As part of the scholarship, we will also offer the scholar the opportunity to interview for our highly competitive internship and placement year opportunities. Our hope is that you participate in the G-Research Summer Internship programme 2025.
Why offer a scholarship?
We are excited to offer one scholarship for a student from a historically under represented background that is interested in pursuing a career in quant finance.
A career in quantitative finance offers bright graduates an exciting and challenging opportunity to apply their technical skills, and progress in a meritocracy surrounded by incredibly intelligent colleagues. At G-Research we are committed to widening participation in an industry where certain groups are underrepresented.
Eligibility requirements
- Applicants must be entering their penultimate undergraduate year of study of a computing/ computer science or related subject such as cyber security or networks, on track to graduate with a 2:1
- Applicants must be domestic students
- The scholarship is open to those from historically underrepresented groups within finance (race, gender and ethnicity)
- The scholarship is also open to those who meet two or more of the following criteria:
- Have attended a non- fee paying school
- Are the first generation of their family to go to university
- Were eligible for free school meals at school
- Students who do not meet these criteria may still be eligible if they have faced exceptional circumstances or barriers to pursuing their studies due to race, sexuality, religion, disability, ongoing health issues or other personal circumstances
Application timelines:
- Applications open: 23rd September 2024
- Applications close: 22nd November 2024
- Shortlisted applicants notified: Week commencing 9th December 2024
- Successful students notified: Week commencing 06th January 2025
