About the Ocean Winds Scholarship:

In 2022 OW launched its scholarship programme for undergraduates studying professional subjects applicable to the offshore wind sector. OW Scholarships are intended to encourage and support students with a passion for subjects that are relevant for the wide range of roles required in development, construction and operation of offshore wind farms.

The programme is designed to help fund talented young people from Moray, Aberdeenshire and Highland whilst studying an undergraduate course at university. The programme will prioritise students that may not otherwise study at university, students studying STEM subjects, or other subjects relevant to the sector.

The award will be an annual £1,500 scholarship to students over the course of their undergraduate degree, up to a maximum of £6,000 over 4 years, paid each year.

The aim of the fund is to support students from the north-east of Scotland where the OW UK operational wind farms are located, to study at any UK university. Additionally, the aim is to support the talent pipeline into the rapidly expanding offshore wind sector by supporting study in relevant, though broad, range of subjects.

Graduates from this programme will have preferential but not guaranteed access to relevant roles within OW, including the Ocean Winds Intern and Graduate programmes.
